Your images

  • All standard tools (converters, compressors, resize, crop, rotate, metadata removal, color picker and PDF tools) process files inside your browser. Files are not uploaded to our servers or any third party.
  • The AI Image Upscaler also processes images in your browser. It downloads an AI model file to your device; your image is not sent anywhere.
  • When you choose a “Continue with” link, your current results are handed to the next tool through your browser’s local storage (IndexedDB). They’re deleted as soon as the next page has loaded them, or when you select Clear.
  • We never receive file names, image contents or image metadata.

Files and retention

  • Files you add are held in your browser’s memory only while the page is open. Closing or refreshing the page clears them.
  • We never receive or store your images, so there is nothing for us to delete.
  • Downloads are created on your device.

Metadata

Converted, compressed and resized files don’t carry over the original EXIF metadata, such as camera details or GPS location. Remove Metadata keeps the image data exactly and removes only the metadata blocks. We never send metadata anywhere.

Network requests that are not your image

Your images are never part of any network request. The page itself does make these requests: loading the website’s code and fonts from our server; on AI tools, the first time you use them, downloading the AI model file from Hugging Face (huggingface.co) and the AI engine’s WebAssembly file from jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net), which then stay in your browser’s cache; these services receive a normal web request, including your IP address, but never your image; analytics events (Google Analytics); and advertising (Google AdSense), subject to your consent where required.

Offline use and browser storage

  • The site uses a service worker so pages you have visited can open offline, and so it can be installed as an app. It stores the website’s own pages, code and fonts in your browser’s cache, never your images.
  • Your browser’s local storage keeps a few small preferences on your device only: your recently used tools, how many downloads you’ve made (to decide whether to offer installation once), and dismissed notices. We can’t read them, and clearing your browser’s site data removes them.
  • If you share images to the installed app from your phone’s share menu, they’re held in your browser’s cache only until you pick a tool, then deleted.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which tools are used and where errors happen. Events contain only the tool name, formats, counts, size and time ranges, and error categories, never file names, image data or metadata. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, analytics cookies are only set after you consent.

Advertising

We show ads through Google AdSense to keep the tools free. Ads never receive your images.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
  • In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, advertising cookies are only used with your consent, which you can change at any time through the privacy message shown on the site.
