What the kit does not check

The kit guarantees the technical file rules above. It does not judge what the photo shows, such as background colour, lighting, expression, glasses or how recent the photo is. Those rules are listed on the official photo requirements page. Acceptance is always decided by the issuing authority.

Privacy

Your photo is processed inside your browser. It is never uploaded, and nothing is kept after you close the page. That matters for identity photos.

Frequently asked questions

Does this check the content of my photo?

No. The kit handles the file rules. Check the photo-content rules on the official photo requirements page before you take the picture.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser.

Can I use the same photo for family members?

No. Each person in the entry needs their own photo. Run the kit once per person.

Will my photo definitely be accepted?

The kit removes technical reasons for rejection; acceptance of the entry is decided by the State Department.
