About JPGtoPNGnow
JPGtoPNGnow started as a single JPG-to-PNG converter and is growing into a full toolkit for images — resizing, compressing and converting between JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC, all in one place.
Every tool on this site runs locally in your browser using standard web technology — the Canvas API, plus a small open-source decoder for HEIC photos. We don't upload your files to a server, we don't ask you to sign up, and we don't watermark anything you download. If a tool ever needs to work differently — for example, a feature that genuinely requires server-side processing — we'll say so clearly on that tool's page rather than assume you won't notice.
We're a small, independent site. If something's broken or a tool you need is missing, the contact page reaches us directly.
Why we built it this way
Most online converters ask you to upload a file, wait in a queue behind other people's files, and trust that the copy sitting on someone else's server gets deleted afterward. We built JPGtoPNGnow to skip all of that. Every conversion, resize, crop and compression runs on the same device you're sitting at right now, using the Canvas API and a handful of small, open-source decoders — the same technology browsers already use to display images, just pointed at a slightly different job.
That approach has a few practical upsides beyond privacy. There's no upload wait, since nothing leaves your device — a multi-megabyte photo processes about as fast as your computer can redraw it. There's no daily limit, no account wall, and no watermark quietly stamped onto your download. And because everything runs in ordinary browser code, the tools keep working even if our servers ever go down, since there's no server in the loop to begin with.
What's on the site today
The toolkit now spans format conversion (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, BMP, TIFF, SVG and ICO), everyday editing (resize, crop, rotate, watermark, blur, sharpen), compression down to an exact target file size, animated GIF editing, social-media presets sized for specific platforms, and a set of PDF tools for merging, splitting, rotating and compressing documents. New tools get added as we hear what people actually need — the contact page is the fastest way to tell us what's missing.
Who this is for
Anyone who needs a quick, one-off file fix without installing software or signing up for a subscription — students prepping a document, small business owners resizing product photos, or anyone who just needs to turn one file into another and get on with their day.
